2025 in Review: VoPay’s Product Highlights

2025 was a big year for VoPay. We moved beyond individual feature launches and focused on strengthening the entire payments operating system for our customers—making it easier to verify payment methods, collect funds faster, pay out in real time, expand globally, and automate financial operations end-to-end.

From expanded coverage for VoPay Verify™ and embedded Interac e-Transfer® experiences to new digital wallet payout options, cross-border services, and deeper accounting automation, every release this year was designed to remove friction and give teams more control, visibility, and speed.

Here’s a look at the product milestones that shaped 2025.

VoPay Global Cross-Border Services: International Payments Through a Single API

Global payouts are no longer a “nice to have” for platforms—they’re table stakes. But building international payments in-house comes with regulatory complexity, fragmented banking relationships, and long development cycles.

In 2025, VoPay introduced Global Cross-Border Services: an embedded, developer-friendly platform for moving money across 100+ countries and 140+ currencies.

VoPay Global Cross-Border Services: International Payments Through a Single API

What’s included:

  • Real-Time FX Engine: Competitive, transparent rates with intelligent routing.
  • Full compliance stack: Built-in KYC, KYB, AML, and global sanctions screening.
  • Multi-party settlement & reconciliation: Support for complex entity structures, partners, and regional flows.
  • Multichannel support: Payouts to bank accounts, wallets, and cash pickup locations in supported markets.

Why it matters:

  1. For engineering teams: No need to negotiate and maintain multiple global banking relationships. VoPay’s infrastructure handles the underlying rails, compliance, and routing, so developers can focus on product.
  2. For finance and operations teams: Centralize global disbursements, reduce reliance on slow SWIFT transfers, simplify reconciliation, and gain real-time visibility into FX and payment status.

With VoPay’s Cross-Border Services, global payments shift from a back-office burden to a scalable product feature that platforms can monetize and grow with.

VoPay Verify™: One Verification Layer for Every Major Payment Method

In 2024, VoPay Verify™ helped businesses accelerate onboarding with instant bank account verification. In 2025, we expanded it into a full payment verification layer that now supports:

  • Bank accounts (via micro-deposits)
  • Interac e-Transfer® (email-based)
  • Credit and debit cards

Instead of treating verification as a one-off step, VoPay Verify™ is now embedded throughout the payment journey, helping confirm that a recipient’s payment method is valid, active, and ready to receive funds before any money moves.

VoPay Verify™: One Verification Layer for Every Major Payment Method

Key capabilities now include:

  • Multi-method coverage: Verify bank accounts, Interac e-Transfer® emails, and card details through a single service.
  • Real-time response: Most checks complete in under three seconds.
  • Built-in access: Use VoPay Verify™ via API or directly within the VoPay Portal.

This flexibility means platforms can dial up or down the level of verification by use case—without adding unnecessary friction. Learn more about VoPay Verify™

VoPay Launches AI-Powered API GPT Assistant to Accelerate Integrations for Developers

VoPay Launches AI-Powered API GPT Assistant to Accelerate Integrations for Developers

In 2025, we also invested heavily in making VoPay easier to integrate and build with. A major step forward was the launch of our AI-powered API GPT Assistant, designed to help engineering and product teams ship embedded payment experiences faster, with less friction.

The API GPT Assistant is an AI copilot that understands VoPay’s platform and documentation, and can generate working integration code in the languages your team already uses—such as Python, JavaScript, C#, PHP, and more. Instead of starting from a blank screen, developers can describe what they’re building and receive tailored code snippets, implementation patterns, and troubleshooting guidance in real time.

What it does for engineering teams:

  • Instant, tailored API code - The assistant can generate example requests, authentication flows, and end-to-end integration samples based on your specific use case—whether you’re building payouts, collections, verification flows, or cross-border capabilities.
  • Multi-language support -  Teams can work in the programming languages that match their stack. The assistant adapts its responses to your preferred language, helping you standardize integrations across services and teams.

Embedded Interac e-Transfer® Request Money: Faster Collections, Less Friction

Interac e-Transfer® Request Money has long been a powerful tool for real-time collections—but the traditional experience forces users to leave your app, find an email or text, and then come back once the payment is complete.

In 2025, VoPay embedded Interac e-Transfer® Request Money directly into your product experience. Instead of pushing customers out to email or SMS, the entire flow now lives inside your:

  • App or platform
  • Customer portal
  • Digital invoice
  • Website checkout
Embedded Interac e-Transfer® Request Money: Faster Collections, Less Friction

Why it matters:

  • Real-time settlement: Improve liquidity and forecasting with instant bank-to-bank transfers.
  • Embedded UX: Keep users in your experience, reducing drop-off and confusion from email/text hopping.
  • Automated reconciliation: Webhooks, callbacks, and detailed reporting ensure every request is traceable and auditable.
  • Lower fraud exposure: Direct bank-to-bank transfers over Interac® reduce the need to store sensitive banking data in your own systems.

Common use cases include SaaS subscription collections, marketplace buyer-to-seller payments, fintech wallet funding, rent and invoice collections, deposits and retainers, and payment links for invoices and online flows.

Real-Time Payouts to PayPal and Venmo: Meeting Users Where They Are

Payouts are where customer experience is often won or lost. This year, VoPay expanded our real-time payout options by adding two of North America’s most widely used digital wallets: PayPal and Venmo.

What’s new:

  • PayPal Payouts (Canada & U.S.): Send funds from a VoPay account directly to a PayPal account using an email, phone number, or PayPal ID.
  • Venmo Payouts (U.S. only): Pay out to Venmo using an email, phone number, or Venmo handle.
  • Real-time delivery: Funds arrive instantly, giving end users near-immediate access.
  • White-label flexibility: Offer PayPal and Venmo as branded payout options, keeping your platform front and center.

Where it fits:

  • Marketplaces that want to keep sellers funded and engaged
  • Gig and on-demand platforms serving drivers, freelancers, and contractors
  • Lending platforms needing fast disbursements once loans are approved
  • Insurance and reimbursement providers sending claims and expense payouts

PayPal and Venmo are also available as payout options within VoPay’s payment link solution, so existing customers can enable them with minimal effort.

A Smarter, More Intuitive VoPay Financial Dashboard

We also redesigned the VoPay Portal Dashboard in 2025 to give teams a faster, more intuitive way to understand financial activity—without pages of reports or manual exports.

A Smarter, More Intuitive VoPay Financial Dashboard

The new dashboard focuses on real-time visibility and easier navigation:

  • Real-time financial snapshots: Instantly see balances, transaction trends, and account limits from a single Overview screen.
  • Hover-to-reveal insights: View daily, weekly, and monthly activity with simple interactions instead of complex filters.
  • Unified branding: The dashboard follows your white-label branding automatically, using your platform’s colour scheme and identity.

New widgets for operational visibility:

  • Transaction Trends: An interactive graph with weekly/monthly toggles and hoverable data points to quickly spot volume spikes or dips.
  • Bank Holiday Calendar: A built-in view of Canadian and U.S. bank holidays, helping operations teams plan for non-processing days.

The result: finance managers, operations teams, and executives all get at-a-glance insight into account health and performance—without leaving the dashboard.

VoPay 360™: From Accounting Sync to Complete Invoice and Bill Workflows

VoPay 360™ started as a way to tightly connect accounting systems with payment operations. In 2025, we took that a step further by adding Invoice and Bill Creation to the VoPay 360™ toolkit.

Now, finance teams can:

  • Create and send invoices directly from VoPay 360™
  • Generate bills and associate them with vendor records
  • Initiate payments or collections from the same screen
  • Sync all changes in real time with the connected accounting software

This upgrade removes the need to jump between separate systems for invoicing, bill payment, and reconciliation.

Beyond Invoice and Bill Creation, VoPay 360™ also enables teams to:

  • Automate recurring payments or future-dated payments
  • Pay suppliers using real-time rails such as VoPay Instant
  • Layer approvals on high-value payables with Transaction Approvals
  • Collect bulk receivables and track outstanding payments in a single dashboard
  • Apply partial payments and credits, syncing everything back to the ledger

Looking Ahead to 2026

In 2026, we’ll continue to build on this foundation with:

  • Deeper intelligence and predictive insights across fraud, cash flow, and payment performance
  • Expanded cross-border coverage, payout options, and currency corridors
  • Additional automation tools and no-code orchestration for complex financial workflows
  • Further UX and developer experience improvements across the Portal, APIs, and our AI-powered assistants

Our goal is simple: to give product, finance, and operations teams one place to design, launch, and scale every stage of money movement, and, ultimately, continue to build the most powerful payment orchestration platform in North America.

On the roadmap, you’ll see more AI-powered tools, richer automation, enhanced security and compliance capabilities, expanded white-label products, broader verification services, deeper cross-border coverage, a more self-serve platform experience, and much more. Stay tuned!
